Senior Jacob Lara hurled seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing only two singles in a masterful effort that clinched a playoff berth for the Bay City Blackcats. Lara, normally used in relief, struck out 10 Terry Rangers in the 8-0 win.

Bay City has now qualified for the playoffs 15 out of the last 16 years and will play the winner of District 24-4A, which is yet to be determined.

LaDarian Stone had three hits, two of which were doubles, and drove in a pair as well. Lara drove in a run with a single and DJ Dominguez drove in two with a sacrifice fly and a double.

Bay City had seven hits, including RBIs by Dominguez and Lara.

The Blackcats finished the regular season at 13-12.
