Assault
On Monday, August 16, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Bay City Police was called to the 2400 block of 5th street in reference to an assault. Officers arrived and found victim lying underneath a carport between two vehicles deceased. According to Bay City Police Department, an apparent argument between the victim and his Uncle lead to the victim being stabbed. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later and charged with murder. The victim was identified as Guadalupe Gonzales 50 years old from Bay City, his Uncle Belen Alameda Jr. 51 years old, also from Bay City. The case is still under investigation with Lead Detective Armando Galvan heading up the investigation.
Assault
On Sunday, August 15, 2010 at approximately 6 p.m., victim came to the Police Department and reported an Assault and Kidnapping. Victim told Officer James Rickaway that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend and then kidnapped and taken to his residence in Van Vleck. According to Lt. Andrew Lewis spokesperson with Bay City Police Department, victim said she had to hide underneath suspect mobile home to get away. Victim went on to say that suspect went as far as to turn his pit-bull dogs loose in an attempt to find her. Lewis also said suspect in his fit of rage fired two shots at a vehicle and also took the battery out of victims’ vehicle. The case is turned over to the Detective Division.
Shots fired
On Sunday, August 15, 2010 at approximately noon Bay City Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Laurel in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived they spotted the suspect vehicle in the 1800 block of Laurel. According to Lt. Andrew Lewis spokesperson with Bay City Police Department, officers made traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun from the vehicle. It was learned that suspect had fired several shots at a dog. Officers located the animal in a backyard of suspects residence deceased. Lewis said suspect was arrested and charged with Cruelty to an animal. Suspect was transported to Matagorda County Jail for booking.
