Dear Editor

As an update to questions regarding what has changed since the past election citizens should know that city vehicles are still being driven home by out of town city employees and it is rumored that other city equipment is being used out of town as well. I will also quote a common phrase used by another city newspaper’s writer DO YOU KNOW that the city run trash service is costing taxpayers more than it would have if we had stayed with contracted services (is the service really any better?) As to the new road being built I as well as many other concerned citizens wonder why are we paying for another sub standard road when so many existing roads in town are in need of repair or why the same people who oversaw the construction of Nile Valley road are still involved in road construction in Bay City.

Taxpayers are also still paying a law firm to protect past and present elected officials from charges of criminal misconduct, this law firm which is not protecting the city would be fired and the chips would be allowed to fall where they may especially now that past and present city employees have stepped forward stating they were witness to the destruction and alterations of city documents that were requested under the Freedom of Information Act. Why was a now local construction company given a $450,000 property that was paid for by taxpayers that will be used as an entrance for property that as of yet they do not own. Why does the BCCDC use our tax dollars to build roads for only certain developers?

Governor Rick Perry's office has started a new Criminal Investigation now underway regarding "criminal activities" committed by Bay City officials and others. I am also aware that the FBI and other State Law Enforcement entities are now involved with initiating their own investigations due to the number of complaints involving Elected Officials. These are points of facts:

The City of Bay City is actually involved in a pending Federal Court Litigation ID # 4: 09-CV-2448.

Information regarding, past and present elected city officials and city employees referencing misappropriation of taxpayer’s dollars and credit card abuse has already been entered into files....which will become part of the Federal Court record. This is also information each of these individuals will have to address.

Joe Enoch, Clarence Fenner, and other councilmen now have the precarious task of explaining the signed/sworn affidavits to which they will also have to address in Federal Court. Given the fact they each swore to information they knew was false. Particularly damaging is the fact there is written evidence and witnesses to prove this fact. Elected officials are sworn to uphold the law. Seemingly several of them have entered into a conspiracy to cover up the facts of malfeasance within the Knapik administration. The conspiracy act alone carries a greater penalty than the initial act of malfeasance on the Federal level... On the outside to those who care about our city and our neighbors it sounds like the same old same ol… but things are moving along remember it took two years, a lawsuit and several rulings from the Attorney Generals Office just to view altered documents and find out others were destroyed. You the Taxpayer are paying the Lawyers fees to drag this out as long as they can money that’s wasted while you are being charged more for city services and getting less service. Sure would be nice if our tax dollars were spent on all of us to better our whole community. The mayor is being kept at bay by our city council and council will try to pass an ordinance taking more of his power away. I think it’s clear that city council is still serving themselves instead of the community. We put a new mayor in office because we wanted changes and our present city council needs to be made aware of that.
