Criminal Mischief

On Friday Jan. 22 deputy was dispatched to Van Vleck to meet with complainant in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who stated she had spent the night with her boyfriend and had parker her car in the garage and when she was leaving, she discovered that someone had scratched the paint on her car all the way around. Deputy said he would file a report.

Credit card abuse

On Wednesday Jan. 27 deputy met with complainant in the lobby in reference to theft. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant and reported he was waiting on a new debit card from the bank. Counterfeit money

On Thursday Jan 28 deputy was dispatched to the T.C. Country store in Sugarvally with a complaint in reference to counterfeit U.S. currency. Upon arrival, deputy met with clerk at the store who advised a male in his late thirties came to the store and asked if he could get change for $100 dollar bill. Complainant asked to see the currency and checked but noticed that something was wrong with the bill. She stated she remembered a note from her boss, stating that counterfeit money was being passed locally. She checked if the bill was fake and she checked the ink mark, which revealed it was good but she said she felt something was not right. She held the bill up to the light and saw a watermark of president Lincoln and knew the bill was counterfeit. She asked customer where he had gotten the bill and he responded he got it in Bay City. Customer walked to his car and drove off. Complainant wrote down license plate number of car. Officer took possession of the counterfeit bill as evidence.

Possession of drugs

On Thursday Jan. 28 deputy was dispatched to Matagorda in reference to a person banding on the door of a residence loudly. Upon arrival deputy spoke to complainant who reported Hispanic female was banging on the door, trying to kick it, but left. Complainant invited deputy inside his home to speak privately. When deputy sat down, he noticed a red and white in color glass pipe sitting on top of the small table to his right. Deputy picked up the pipe and noticed it smelled of burned marijuana. He also recognized the build up of burned marijuana residue on the bowl of the pipe. He also observed a metal grinder in plain view sitting on top of the small table. Complainant was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia andn placed in double locked handcuffs and transported to the Matagorda County Jail.

Criminal trespassing

On Saturday Jan. 30 deputy was dispatched to Cedar Lake in reference to harassment. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant who wanted to report her ex-boyfriends new girlfriend coming to her residence and constantly calling her on the phone and hanging up. She has also seen her walking off her front porch and writing something down on paper. She has also received harassment calls at her place of employment from her. She also reported a few weeks ago, the new girlfriend called her at work and threatened to kill her and her boyfriend. A report was created and turned in to the Criminal Investigation Division for a follow up.

Theft

On Monday Feb. 1 deputy was dispatched to Cherry Elementary School in reference to theft. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant who advised that someone had stolen nine round bales of hay from a hay pasture at the end of Times Round in the live oak community. Complainant said she did not know who would have taken the hay without her permission. A report was created.
