Prohibited weapon
On Feb. 12 deputy observed a pick-up cross the centerline several times, failing to maintain a single lane. Deputy attempted a traffic stop. Driver of the car made a stop and ran from the scene. While deputy tried to stop the male, the two other occupants left the scene in the truck. Other deputy arrived and assisted with the transportation of person arrested, sent to county jail.
Deputy then returned to service and attempted to locate the truck from the traffic stop. Deputy noticed truck parked and contacted another deputy for assistance. Deputy conducted inventory of truck before wrecker towed. Deputy found a prohibited weapon in the glove compartment, identified as metal knuckles and knife combo. Driver was charged with no driver license, evading detention and possession of prohibited weapon.
Burglary of Habitation
On Friday Feb. 12 deputy was dispatched to Blessing in reference to a burglary of habitation. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with complainant who stated that he left his residence and when he returned home he was approached by his daughter who stated she observed an open rifle case on her bed without her rifle.
He later discovered the spare bedroom window to be broken and a screwdriver on the bed, he went to see the damage on the window observed the screen to the window lying on the ground. It would cost approximately $60 to repair the broken window.
Gas drive off
On Sunday Feb. 14 deputy was dispatched to the Blessing Drive-In in reference to a gas drive off. Upon arrival, complainant reported a red Chrysler mini van pulled up to pump 3 and a short heavy set white male got out of the drivers side of the vehicle. Complainant turned on the pump for the customer and stated the subject pumped $15.16 gallons of unleaded fuel into the van and the he drove off without paying for the fuel. Complainant does not know the direction the van took. She stated she did not recognize the subject or vehicle. She did not know if the cameras facing the gas pump were working. Complainant provided a receipt for the transaction of the theft.
Public intoxication
On Tuesday Feb. 16 deputy was patrolling the Wadsworth area where he observed a white in color Toyota who failed to signal intent to turn at the intersection. Deputy pulled behind the vehicle and activated emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop. Driver could not provide license and registration information, deputy was advised via dispatch that his license had been suspended. Deputy spoke to passenger and noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting him. Both occupants of car were arrested, one for a suspended license and the other for public intoxication. Central towing arrived and towed vehicle. Both were sent to the Matagorda County Jail.
