Burglary of a church
On Friday Jan. 22 at approximately 3:30 p.m. officers responded to a church in the 1200 block of Avenue C in reference to a burglary of a church. Upon arrival officers met with complainant who advise he discovered that unknown subject broke into the church and stole a computer system. There are no known suspects at this time. Case is under investigation by Det. Armando Galvan.
Burglary of habitation
On Friday Jan. 22 at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Fifth street in reference to burglary of habitation. Upon arrival, officer made contact with homeowner who reported that an unknown suspect entered the garage, which is attached to the residence and stole a patio chair. No known suspects. Case is under investigation by Det. Armando Galvan.
Drugs found in car
On Saturday Jan. 23 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Tomphson. Traffic stop was done because of an expired vehicle registration. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, consent was given by driver to search vehicle. Once inside officers found a rock substance that tested positive for cocaine. The cocaine was in a clear plastic bag. Suspected was placed in custody and taken to the Matagorda County Jail for the offence of possession of a control substance and traffic violations.
