The South Texas Project, in coordination with local and state officials, participated in an emergency response drill Tuesday in Bay City.

The routine drills assist all participants in their efforts to work in a coordinated manner in the event of an incident at South Texas Project or weather related issue.

The scenario is unknown to the participants and STP employees participate in a variety of roles.

The Matagorda County Emergency Operation Center sets up at the Matagorda County Sheriff’s office, while the Joint Information Center sets up at the Best Western hotel.

The Joint Information Center held a mock media press conference as part of the drill.

Representatives from STP and the county answer questions they would in a real media press conference.
