Dear Editor

I attended the very informative meeting, presented by White Stallion, (WS), folks, and their CEO Randy Bird, Tuesday evening at the Bay City High School. We watched a slide presentation about the plant, were treated to a spaghetti dinner, prepared by high school staff, and then were encouraged to ask questions. While I asked my share of questions, as did others, I still have three more: 1) Many folks, including agencies and organizations, (USFWS, TPWD, EPA, The Nature Conservancy), wrote letters to the US Army Corps of Engineers, last November, urging them to deny WS a permit. During his talk, Mr. Bird said that the Corps had visited the proposed plant site with him, and suggested some changes in their design. I believe this happened last October. Were those changes implemented before the letters were submitted to the Corps or after?; 2) Won't two 300 ft barges stir up the sediment at the bottom of the river, and cause erosion along its banks? 3) Your exhibits stated that no environmental harm would be done. If that is true, then please answer this question. If you were required to submit an environmental impact statement, you would "pass with flying colors"...True or False?
