Dear Editor
Well the race for Mayor is almost over and its time for the people of Bay City to make a choice. Do we want a Mayor that worries more about keeping people from El Campo employed than employing Bay City residents while wasting millions on sub-standard work (just look at our roads), and according to past and present employees are stealing from the city? Do we want a Mayor that allows the City’s Public works director to surround himself with people that will not question his actions and help him cover-up any wrong doings. For any City employee that questions or brings problems to light they are rewarded by our present administration with demotions and wrongful termination. If your not a city employee and speak out our present administration will call your employer, contact civic organizations that you may belong to , and even ask law enforcement official’s to investigate you. Do we want a Mayor that misleads the public so he can do favors for personal friends, or withholding and destroying public records to cover-up his own wrong-doings and when documents are released the Mayors credit card records, and records for the director of the BCCDC are missing or unreadable, all other city credit card records are legible. If you haven’t heard 3 different investigations are still ongoing. By the way we as taxpayers are paying for the Mayor’s lawyer; some people want you to believe that this lawyer is protecting the city that is a false statement. Do we want a Mayor that pats himself on the back every time a new business comes to town? Our City elected officials nor any other city employee can take credit for the new Super Wal-Mart, Chili’s, and the strip mall by Wal-Mart, The truth is they actually delayed Wal-Mart’s construction which delayed Chili’s and the mall since they follow Wal-Mart. As for STP and the new reactors once again they were coming no matter who the Mayor was. As for The Center for Energy Development Thank you STP. The only thing I don’t understand is why they are paying rent on a building they pretty much paid for. What about the businesses that have closed, want to go to the movies? Not in Bay City and a new theater is several years down the road if it happens at all. Wonder why the announcement for new construction came out last week? I could go on about our City elected officials but readers of this letter understand my point. If you can’t bring yourself to believe that our present Mayor is allowing all this to happen, look at the documents that I have. This is not just an election for someone that can lead our city it is also a chance to elect someone that will clean house as the problems with city leadership go much deeper also involving city department heads. Citizens should not only vote for change but also vote for someone that will change the face of city leadership, vote for equality for all Bay City residents not just a selected few. Over the years of speaking out on different issues I have heard a lot of people say why vote they are still going to do what they want to anyway. Remember get out and vote you really can make a difference.
