Home burglary
On Thursday Feb. 25 at approximately 1:40 p.m. officers spoke to victim in reference to a burglary in a residence in 800 block of 5th street. The victim reported that she had opened her residence to another individual because she had no other place to go. The suspect left the resident and victim discovered her silver flat wear and china had been stolen. There is a person of interest. Case is under investigation.
Identity theft
On Friday Feb. 26 at approximately 2:45 p.m. officers spoke to complainant who reported that he had never been in the Bay City area, but had received a letter from a loan company stating that he had taken out a loan. He believes that suspect had taken out a loan with his information when his vehicle was stolen. There are no known suspects at this time and case is under investigation.
Fraud of services
On Tuesday Feb. 23 at approximately 4:30 p.m. officer spoke to an investigator of DirecTv who discovered that back in 2009 a suspect had acquired several DirecTv receivers. Upon investigation it was discovered that customers started contacting DirecTv about satellite service. Customers reported individual installed systems and then would go to their house every month to collect their monthly fees. Case is under investigation and there are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bay City police department or crime stoppers.
