Harassment

On Thursday March 4 deputy was dispatched to the Bay City Police Department lobby in reference to harassment. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant who advised that on Feb. 3 he started receiving four to five hundred calls a day from his ex-wife. Complainant advised that he told his ex-wife stop calling him. He said his ex-wife leaves voice mails stating she is going to kill him and his girlfriend. Complainant also said she leaves text messages calling him names and saying she will harm him. Deputy reported that while he was taking down the information for the report, the complainants phone kept ringing nonstop. Deputy answered the phone on his behalf and informed caller that her phone calls were not wanted. There was silence and she hung up. The phone immediately began to ring again. Complainant said he wanted to press charges.

Verbal disturbance

On Friday March 5 deputy was dispatched in reference to a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with complainant who stated he allowed his soon to be ex-wife to use a vehicle he recently purchased. He informed his ex-wife if she took the car to a bar, he would pick it up. He informed deputy that his ex-wife took his car to a bar, he picked it up and the next day his ex-wife came to him yelling and screaming and cursing at him. He stated she punched him in the face several times. His new girlfriend attempted to pull her off him. She then scratched her on the neck. Both wanted to press charges on the ex-wife. A notice to adult victim of family violence packet was issued.

Criminal mischief

On Saturday March 6 deputy was dispatched to highway 35 in reference to a past criminal mischief. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant who advised that someone had hit her mailbox that was located in front of her resident. Complainant stated that the previous evening, she had gone outside and gotten her mail. On the next day, she noticed a vehicle had hit the mailbox and the post. Deputy noticed a small mailbox newspaper box and metal post had been hit by a vehicle going southbound. The complainant does not know the exact time the mailbox was hit. She estimated the cost to replace the mailbox post and newspaper box at approximately $50.

Assault

On Sunday March 7 deputy was dispatched to Matagorda Regional Hospital in reference to a subject in the emergency room who had been assaulted at the Matagorda County Fair Grounds. Upon arrival deputy met with victim who stated he was driving out of the parking lot on the far south side of the fair grounds across from Hammon Road when a vehicle pulled up and blocked his vehicle and he could not pull out of the road. Several black males exited the vehicle and he exited his vehicle along with his passenger. He then said the men from the other car jumped them and they left. He noticed he was cut just above the right ankle on the inside of his leg.

Burglary of vehicle

On Sunday March 7 deputy was dispatched to the parking lot of the Matagorda County Fair Grounds in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who stated he left his car unlocked because he knew he was not going to be there long. He said he and his friends decided to leave, and he stated when they got into the vehicle he noticed someone had stolen his pioneer CD player and his Nano Ipod. He then checked the rest of the vehicle and noticed his 1,200-watt boss amp and his two 12’ kicker speakers were also stolen. Complainant stated it would cost him approximately $420 to replace the items, there was no damage caused to the vehicle.

Burglary of Habitation

On Tuesday March 9 deputy was dispatched to Live Oak Bend in reference to a past burglary of habitation. Upon arrival, deputy met with homeowner who advised that her residence is vacant and that she came by to check on the home and found a back window broken. Deputy observed a window that had been broken by an unknown object. The window was not completely broken and no entry to the residence had been made. After further checking the property, complainant advised the locking latch on the storage shed in the backyard had been pried open. Complainant stated that nothing was missing from the shed. The estimate to fix window was $100 and the storage shed latch about $10.

Burglary of Habitation

On Tuesday March 9 deputy was dispatched to Van Vleck in reference to a past burglary of habitation. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who stated that he and his wife had left earlier in the morning and had returned to their RV and found it had been broken into and items taken from inside. Deputy observed window on the door to the RV to have been broken with an object and then the interior screen door was also bent and broken open. The only thing that was missing according to complainant was an Emerson 19’’ LCD TV.
