Past Theft
On Wednesday March 10 deputy was dispatched to Matagorda County Sheriff's office lobby in reference to a past theft. Upon arrival, deputy met with complainant who stated his four-wheeler and trailer were stolen from his property the last week of Dec. 2009. Complainant stated that he was contacted last week and notified that his four-wheeler had been found and asked if it was stolen. Complainant said he did not report his four-wheeler stolen at that time but that it was.
Burglary of Habitation
On Wednesday March 10 deputy was dispatched to FM 457 in reference to a past burglary of habitation. Upon arrival complainant advised his son and his nephew arrived at home and found that someone had broken into his home. Complainant stated that the suspect had gotten into the home through the front window. The screen had been removed and the window had been open. Visible hand prints were seen on the window. Complainant entered the home and noticed that the room he rents out to other person had been thrown all over the floor. Complainant reported items missing were a small safe from Wal-Mart that contained an unknown number of jewelry items. The estimate was set at approximately $6000 worth of jewelry and a few coins. The safe was in the back bedroom, underneath the headboard and was not visible to someone entering the room. Only missing from the same bedroom in a dresser drawer was a bottle of Hydrocodine.
Past theft
On Wednesday March 10 deputy was dispatched to Cedar Lake in reference to a past theft. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who advised that someone had went into the cattle pasture that he leases and stole his electric meter that runs his water well. Deputy observed that the electric pole with a missing electric meter, double pole breaker, 10 feet of 10/3 AWG wire, 4 feet 2/0 wire, meter can and mater cover and all wires had been cut. The estimated cost of all items is $300.
Theft of television
On Wednesday March 10 deputy was dispatched to South Bay City in reference to a theft. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who stated that a 46 inch black Samsung LED television, valued at $2500 had been stolen from his home sometime during the day. Complainant stated that the gate had a combination lock and that the actor had left themselves in. He reported nothing else had been stolen.
Credit Card Theft
On Thursday March 11 deputy was dispatched to Van Vleck in reference to credit card theft. Upon arrival deputy met with victim who stated that on or about Dec. 2009, she noticed that her Palais Royal Credit Card was missing from her wallet. Several charges have been placed on the card from Dec. to Jan. totaling 41602.67 in Louisiana.
Theft
On Thursday March 11 deputy was dispatched to Cedar Lane in reference to a theft. Deputy arrived and made contact with complainant who stated he and his wife had been done from their residence on Thursday and when they returned home he discovered his barn had been broken into. While on scene, deputy observed the lock had not been broken, but the clasp that holds the barn doors to gain access to the barn. He noted his blue in color craftsman took box containing various hand tools valued at $2500, his red in color craftsman 32cc weed eater valued at 130, and his blue and white in color 50cc Yamaha moped valued at $2500 were all missing from his barn. Deputy asked victim for copies of the serial numbers of items, he was able to provide a copy of the serial number for the moped. A manual was also found with the model number printed on it. Deputy advised victim his residence would be placed on the close patrol list, prior to leaving deputy advised dispatch of the stolen moped's VIN number.
Hit and run
On Saturday March 13 deputy was dispatched to the Matagordaville Bar in Matagorda in reference to an accident in the parking lot. The caller advised dispatch the vehicle backed into a parked vehicle in the parking lot and left the scene. Upon arrival deputy observed a blue ford fusion parked with damage to the driver’s side door, mirror and broken glass window. Deputy observed that there was a white or silver color paint smudged on the door where it was dented. Owner of car says she and other customers noticed that two men left the bar shortly before she went outside to her car and found the damage. She said she noticed a car parked in front of hers when she arrived and it fit the description of the color mark left on her car. She said she did not see the accident when it happened.
Criminal Mischief
On Monday March 15 deputy was dispatched to Van Vleck elementary in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival deputy met with director of maintenance at the Van Vleck school district. He stated he was called to the bus ramp on Avenue J and noticed damage to the fence and called the Sheriff’s office. He stated hearing a loud noise around 3 a.m. Video of the damage was taken, the damage of the fence was approximate 40’ of ¼ itch tubing, 40’ of cyclone fence and 1-4’’ of gutter beam. Recovered from the scene was a black rear view mirror from the passenger side of the suspected vehicle. Suspect located and vehicle were located.
