Theft
On Tuesday May 4 deputy was dispatched to Bay City in reference to a theft. Upon arrival deputy spoke to complainant who stated that he checked the equipment at a pump jack in a fiend south of Matagorda county fair grounds. When he checked he discovered the electric 30 horse power motor and the electrical harness was stolen from the pump jack. The last time he saw the pump jack was three weeks ago. The value of the motor and the electric harness is set at $5,000. Complainant said he did not know of any suspects for the theft.
Burglary of a vehicle
On Tuesday May 4 deputy was dispatched to the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a burglary to a vehicle. Upon arrival deputy spoke to victim who stated his tools that his brother and himself had been accumulating together were stolen out of his 1991 Black Ford Thunderbird. A suspect was found.
Criminal Mischief
On Saturday May 1 deputy was dispatched to South highway 60 in Bay City in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant at the roadside by the residence. He stated that sometime between Friday and Saturday someone had run over and destroyed his white metal mailbox, valued at $35. He did not witness the criminal mischief.
Deadly weapon
On Tuesday May 4 deputy was dispatched to the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to unlawful carrying of a weapon. Upon arrival deputy spoke to jail captain who stated two inmates had plastic shanks hidden in their mattresses. He stated he learned the suspects were planning on stabbing an inmate. The captain got the jail staff and went to remove other inmates from the tank; they began searching the tank for contraband. The jail staff found a plastic shank made out of a Colgate tooth brush and a torn sheet was used as a handle.
Criminal Mischief
On Monday May 3 deputy was dispatched to Nicole Street in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival deputy spoke to victim and stated her front bedroom screen and window was broken out. She stated she left town on Wednesday to visit her husband in North Carolina and sated her neighbor’s son was coming by the house to take care of her dog. She stated the neighbors son called her to let her know her dog was out on Saturday and neighbors checked all doors and they where secured. She then stated her neighbor began to check the windows and discovered it broken. Victim does not believe the actor made entry into her residence because of her large dogs staying inside the residence and nothing appears to be missing.
Burglary of Habitation
On Thursday April 29 deputy was dispatched to Bay City in reference to burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival deputy made contact with the complainant who stated she arrived home and observed her front door to be open. She stated she observed her coffee table and laptop to be knocked over on the ground and he son’s room had been gone through but nothing was taken. A toy box was turned over with toys lying on the floor and her bedroom had also been gone through. Complainant’s bed was unmade with two earrings lying on the bed. She stated she was missing her 14K herrin bone necklace worth $500 and also missing was $700 worth of cash. She did not know anything else to be missing.
Burglary of Habitation
On Thursday April 29 deputy was dispatched to the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office to speak to complainant in reference to a burglary of habitation. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with complainant who stated someone had entered his vacation home. He returned to find that someone had been inside his house and left wet grassy towels on the floors of three of the four bedrooms. He then stated all of the lights downstairs had been left on. He found a one dollar bill rolled up with white powder on the inside of it left on the bar and a used cigarette butt left in the sink.
Past theft
On Friday April 30 deputy was dispatched to North Bay City in reference to a past theft. Upon arrival deputy spoke to complainant who stated his boss discovered all the batteries and two cross over battery cables to his 20000 Peterbilt truck stolen. The park was reported to be parked in the parking lot. A report was open.
