Theft of a Vehicle
On Wednesday, Nov. 23 deputy was dispatched in Bay City in reference to a theft of a vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was later determined to be unathorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputy met with complainant who stated after inventorying his personal property, he noticed his black in color 1975 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was missing. He advised last seeing his truck in his residence the day before. He advised he parked his truck inside the enclosed pasture to the right of this residence and said the door to the pasture does not have a lock and was not locked during or prior to the incident. He advised his truck has two wrenches on the back of the flatbed and one wrench is mechanical and the other is electrical. He said his truck was inoperable and could not be driven at the time. he advised he could start the vehicle and drive it but stated he didn't believe the actors could start it. He believes whoever took his truck most likely used it for scrap metal and for its wrenches. he stated his fence has electrical wiring, however the entry and exit gate is not electrical. He advised he did not know who might have taken his truck from this property but stated he has had property taken from this property in the past.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle
On Wednesday, Nov. 23 deputy was dispatched to Matagorda County Jail to investigate a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival deputy spoke to complainant who stated he did not know where the offense happened, other than he stopped at store in Van Vleck. Complainant was driving a company vehicle and stating in the Bay City area on business. On Nov. 22 complainant said he got back to the hotel and went to retrieve his laptop and it was no longer in his vehicle. He remembered stopping at a store in Van Vleck sometime during the day. He could not remember which store. He said he did not lock his vehicle when he stopped at the store. he said he would attempt to provide the serial number of the computer at a later date.
Theft
On Saturday, Nov. 26 deputy was dispatched to the Matagorda County sheriffs office to speak with a complainant in reference to theft. Upon arrival deputy made contact with complainant who stated that on Nov. 12 she had 51 rounds bales of hay stacked in the driveway of her residence. She stated that she placed a cable around the bales of hay to keep them from getting stolen. She stated when she returned to her residence on Nov. 26 she noticed the cable had been cut and nine of the bales of hay where missing from the stack. She stated she also noticed tire marks from tractor in the driveway as well. she stated she does wish to file charges on the parties responsible for stealing the hay.
Disturbance
On Saturday, Nov. 26 deputy was dispatched to Markham in reference to a disturbance in progress while en route to the residence communications advised deputy the 911 caller stated her mother had been assaulted by her brother. Upon arrival to the residence deputy met with a female subject who stated that her daughter had called 911 for no reason. While deputy spoke to female, he noticed her chin was bleeding. Deputy asked what had happened to her chin and she stated, “I must have fallen down somewhere.” deputy looked around through the open door and observed a male subject sitting on the couch playing xBox. Deputy advised male subject to step out of the residence onto the porch. Deputy asked him what had happened to his mother’s chin and stated he didn't know. Male pointed to his mother and she jumped back due to the fact she was afraid of him. Male was placed in handcuffs. Deputy asked him what had happened to his mother and he sated “I hit her, but not that hard.” He was place under arrest and placed him in the backseat of the patrol car. Mother informed deputy she asked her son to stop playing the xbox and clean his room, when he refused, she unplugged the game. He then stood up and punched her in the mouth. She stated she was afraid at first to tell deputy what had happened because she was scared she would be assaulted again by her son. She refused to press charges and signed the proper paperwork.
Animal Complaint
On Friday, Nov. 25 deputy was dispatched to Jenson Point Drive in reference to an animal complaint. Upon arrival deputy met with complainant who provided the information for the report. He stated on Nov. 7 a group of dogs which belonged to someone in the area had injured one of his cats whiche lated died due to the injuries. He also stated the dogs had been getting in his trash and have been damaging his yard. He stated he has tried to contact animal control three times and has left messages but has not received a call back. He stated the dogs are black in color and have a white chest.Owner notified the owners of the dogs but they still continue to let the dogs out.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 23 deputy was dispathced to Bay City in reference to an animal complaint. Upon arrival deputy met with complaiant who stated her neighbors brown lab dogs were running in her yard in the morning and killed 3 of her chickens. she stated that she had pictures on her camera and she then shoed deputy the pictures of the dosgs chewing on the chickens. Deputy observed deceased chickens in her yard. She said this has occured many times before but nothign ever gets done and the dogs continue to come to her property. Deputy spoke to owners of dog, adviced to keep dogs in their yard.
