So I attended the conference this weekend and it was amazing! I got to meet investigative reporter Matt Stiles from The Texas Tribune, John Tedesco from the San Antonio Express and James Grimaldi from the Washington Post. I learned so much about FOI/Open records, covering campaigns, the art of interviewing and even how to bulletproof a story. One of my favorite parts of the workshop was the "Using technology to enhance your work," presented by Matt Stiles. He got me pumped about using some of those free web tools that are out there. My goal is to start playing with some of the tools and pick up a few ideas for future articles.
