My fiance and I recently decided that we needed to get ANOTHER puppy, as if our 65-pound basset hound wasn't enough puppy for us. We looked at lots of breeds before deciding on the cocker spaniel and decided to go look at a breeder.

Here's a little tip: don't ever think you can go to a breeder, see the pups, and NOT walk away with one...just not gonna happen. Lesson learned.
So we went with the idea that we were just going to look and decide whether that was really the breed we wanted to go with. About 30 minutes later we were on our way home with the first chocolate-colored cocker the breeder had ever sold. Ranger is his name, and biting is his game. Biting, chewing, and in most cases eating, whatever he can get his little mouth on. Now, I don't know why puppy teeth are sharp as razors, or how it's possible for a 2-pound puppy to eat an entire couch in 30 minutes, but what I do know is that it happened. Twice. Puppies...gotta love 'em.
Ranger is fun to have around though, and watching him play with the Basset is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. Jezabell, the 65-pound basset, (of which, I'm pretty sure half is ears) loves to play with Ranger...that is, until Ranger starts doing Tarzan swings from her ears by holding onto them with his toothy death grip while she flails her head around. And after he gets thrown across the room, what does he do? shakes it off and sits down for about 2.5 seconds to regroup before attacking for the 14th time. Stubborn and determined. Just like his dad, I guess. Good Boy.
